What is the Jr. FFA

The purpose of the Junior FFA is to enhance and encourage the education of younger students who are interested in the future of the agricultural industry. Membership into the New Summerfield Junior FFA is open to New Summerfield ISD students that are at least eight years old and in the third grade through the 8th grade.   Eligible students must complete an application form and pay a $10 fee for annual dues.  Each Jr. FFA member must have one parent that is a member of the New Summerfield Young Farmers club.

Junior membership activities shall include exhibition of livestock, poultry, and ag mechanics projects at Local, County, regional and statewide shows as well as chapter sanctioned Jr. FFA meetings and events.  Junior FFA members are not eligible to participate in events in which Texas FFA Association has direct oversight including but not limited to leadership development events, career development events, speaking development events, state FFA rodeo, talent and agri-science fair.

 Junior members are not eligible to cast a vote or participate in the discussion related to the official business of the New Summerfield FFA Chapter, Texas FFA Association or of any district, or area association.
